About Baileys Point

Bailey's Point campground is the largest of the Army Corps of Engineers' campgrounds on Barren River Lake. This campground offers several waterfront campsites with scenic views of the lake. Though the campground is one of the largest, you won't know it. There is room to roam, five camping loops with diverse scenery, and private coves for swimming or mooring your boat. Beautiful area, we chose area B because the sites are close to the water. Being able to put in our boat right in front of our campsite was great. But be aware that the road goes between the sites and the water, so when you're looking out at the lake you'll also see every person/dog walking or riding by in front of you. Also be aware that some sites have the campfire/sitting area behind the pull in, so if you pull in the direction the one-way road goes, your camper will be on the wrong side (unless you're able to pull in backwards). Another downside is there are sites directly behind some of the ones close to the lake. The extremely rude and inconsiderate campers behind us left their very bright LED outdoor lights on all night, even after they went to bed. So while we tried to enjoy our campfire we had bright light shining on us which was very annoying and ruined our whole evening. With campsites that close together there really should be a rule about turning off the outdoor lights on RVs after a certain hour. We probably won't go back, would rather find a different campground near a lake.

We have a lakehouse nearby but reserved a campsite for an Oct BooBash weekend. Baileys point does this every year 2 weekends in Oct. Even though with covid it wasn't the full experience as in years before, the kids, and adults, had a great time dressing up, walking the campground and seeing all the campers decorated! I've been going to Baileys point for many years camping and it is a beautiful campground and very clean. The campsites are very nice and spaced out as well! Oh and the sunsets are gorgeous! You should really go here to get a lovely camping experience!

Bailey’s point was probably the nicest, cleanest, most beautiful campgrounds we have ever visited! We have been RV-ing for years, and we will want to come stay here again!

Policies & Rules

Cancellation policy

  • Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
  • Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
  • Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
    • Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
  • Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
  • Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
  • Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
