Tailwater is a peaceful campground with friendly hosts and a beautiful setting by the Barren River, making it a favorite among many campers. While some visitors noted issues with maintenance, such as restroom cleanliness and the need for infrastructure improvements, they appreciated the welcoming atmosphere and enjoyed activities like fishing. Overall, many families cherish their experiences there and plan to return, highlighting the campground's charm despite areas needing attention.

Campground attendants were super nice. We have stayed at this campground numerous times but it has been several years ago. It was different this time though. There were kids making laps on golf carts and a guy driving a 4-wheeler around the campground also. Made for a louder stay then I would have liked. DO NOT like the sand that is in the play areas for the kids. It ends up all over the place and in the campers. They should change it out with mulch.
