Tailwater is a peaceful campground with friendly hosts and a beautiful setting by the Barren River, making it a favorite among many campers. While some visitors noted issues with maintenance, such as restroom cleanliness and the need for infrastructure improvements, they appreciated the welcoming atmosphere and enjoyed activities like fishing. Overall, many families cherish their experiences there and plan to return, highlighting the campground's charm despite areas needing attention.

This is a very nice location. The sites are clean and spacious. I would have stayed to the end of my reservation but there was no cell phone or internet. Because I am a fulltime rver and do not have another home to go back to, I am dependent upon having phone access. Having to drive 2-3 mi to find a place where I could get a decent signal was not something I liked doing. I gave up after 4 days.
