Tailwater is a peaceful campground with friendly hosts and a beautiful setting by the Barren River, making it a favorite among many campers. While some visitors noted issues with maintenance, such as restroom cleanliness and the need for infrastructure improvements, they appreciated the welcoming atmosphere and enjoyed activities like fishing. Overall, many families cherish their experiences there and plan to return, highlighting the campground's charm despite areas needing attention.

You need to remind everyone that brings a dog that they need to clean up after them when they check in.

We stayed 4 days during Labor Day weekend. We were on site #16. We were in the direct sun from morning to late evening. Fortunately we had an awning screen to help block some of the sun. We will not reserve that site again. It was mostly level and required a 2nd hose (which was fine). The view was nice, the shower house was clean and the hosts were nice. *Don’t expect to get service if you are a Verizon customer. You will need to drive to the top of the hill to get any kind of service.
