What Guests Are Saying
Waitsboro Campground offers a beautiful and peaceful setting with great views of Lake Cumberland, making it a lovely getaway for couples and families. The campground is clean, well-maintained, and features friendly staff who enhance the experience. However, some challenges include tight maneuvering for larger trailers and an inconveniently located dump station, which can be frustrating for newcomers. Overall, many campers enjoyed their stay and expressed a desire to return.

Overall my stay was very good. I was in campsite 8; which was fully shaded and had a great view of the lake. The accommodations were in good condition. Steve, the campsite manager, did a great job. He answered all questions and made several daily trips throughout the campsite to check on campers and if you had any needs.
The only down side was the dump station. It is located on top of a hill with a very steep incline. The station looked as if it had not been used. Other campers as well as myself did not use it either. The turn down the hill from the dump station is very tight and difficult. I have a 34 foot trailer and I would not have been able to make it safely by myself nor with additional help.
With this being said, I would still recommend this campsite for a great camping trip.
Respectfully, David Ashley.

This is not the place for senior citizens. I had to climb steps to get to my campsite as well as drive my car up a steep hill to use the restroom.
I have since decided to rent a handicapped campsite, despite not actually needing one, to make sure this doesn't happen again. I found this stay disappointing.

In the hot summer there is very little shade on sites 2,3 and 4 but it is still a beautiful campground.

Love the aera, easy boat ramp access and the workers there were extremely nice but campsite had no shade.

The grounds were well kept and bathhouse was well kept and clean. My only “complaint” it the lack of trees along the lower campsites. I like to sleep in a hammock and had nowhere to tie up my hammock. Not much can be done to change that in the short term though.

Smaller campground (only about 2 dozen spots), but can't beat the location as it's right on the water. They could definitely put a little money into it and spruce up the bath/shower house. They are dated and a bit rundown. I would and still come back.

The view was good, but there was no where to hike or fish unless you have a boat. Bathroom was clean and there was also a laundry unit for anyone who wanted to use it.

Nice quiet little Campground...But the Dump Station is Horrible! It's up on top of a Hill with the Bath house and you can only go into the Dump Station when you are entering the Campground! So that means when you depart and want to dump...You have to exit the Campground to a turn around spot and come back in to dump! And then when your at the Dump Station your Camper or Coach is going down hill while dumping.. So there is no way your getting your tanks emptied when everything runs to the front!
