Lighthouse Bend RV Park

Reservation made on the app SPOT2NIGHT . We reserved this RV park for a week, drive from Houston TX, got to the park and it looked closed down. No one at office ( we later found out, that we were supposed to go across the street to the restaurant, that had three flights of stairs, to check in. How are we supposed to know this?) THE CONSTRUCTION GOING ON RIGHT NEXT TO THE RV PARK IS UNIMAGINABLE, AND I DON'T MEAN JUST ROAD WORK. THEY ARE BUILDING A 16 Billion dollar MASSIVE ELECTRIC PLANT THERE. 6,000 WORKERS IN AND OUT ALL NIGHT LONG. There were so many workers that they were bringing them in by busl oads, one bus after the other all day and all night. We called spot tonight to get a refund. And were able to finally get a hold of a manager for that RV park. We ended up staying one night, it was absolutely horrendous. So much dust and dirt in the air, you absolutely could not come out of your camper. Spot2tonight falsely advertised this "campground" describing this RV park as wonderful, pleasant, with a beautiful view. What a nightmare!! At least spot2tonight did refund us our full reservation amount. Do not go to this park. Lighthouse bend RV Park in Cameron Louisiana.

What a wonderful surprise this Lighthouse restaurant. We enjoyed the view and the excellent service. Our lunch was good, and the bread pudding amazing. Just make sure to check on the opening hours, we were barely in time for lunch and they close at 2 pm.

Overall, great food and great service! Flavor was amazing on all dishes. The one downfall is that we ordered a cappuccino with caramel, to go. When explained, we thought it would be a little less than full in the cup, as you can see from the picture, it wasn’t at all.

GREAT FOOD. GREAT SERVICE. Very nice restaurant. Good views. Owned by Venture Global who is building the huge new LNG plant by the restaurant. We arrived about 5 PM on Thurday and by 6 PM the place was filled with area workers.

I treat myself to a hearty meal once per week or so on a typical tour (4-6 weeks out). This was one of the finest! Everything was all-around top notch! ...the service (Shelby), food (chef), setting, and attached store. This is a destination in itself.
