Great quiet get-away spot North of Minden, LA. Large campsites with level camper pads. Gravel area with nice extended tables and large fire pits. This area is on shores of Upper Caney Lake where you are surrounded by beautiful piney woods. Spotted dear on a hike on trails along the lake. White and pink dogwood, peach-pink wild azaleas, purple wisteria and plenty of roadside wildflowers were blooming throughout the park. Camp host on site can provide directions or help if needed. Some sites are reservable while others are FCFS. Minden is short drive for groceries or gas or restaurants. Most restaurants are still not seating inside because of Covid-19 virus. There was a Mexican restaurant that was open inside. Beaver Dam Campground is the place for family, fishing, boating, hiking and relaxing.

We loved the camp sites, they were large and clean. We fished and hiked the trails. It was a great weekend trip

A wonderful campground; far enough off the path to have beautiful stars but about 18 miles from Hot Springs, the National Park and tourism and restaurants, etc... The campground also adjoins a nice marina and multiple lodging types with a clean and functional laundry, camp store and seasonal restaurant.
The campground host is Roy and his spouse; they were great! Roy truly enjoys people and is quite helpful. He keeps a watchful eye but is not a pest in any way. This is a busy campground and quite large and the climb to the mountain top is a little narrow; just take your time and be careful.
The lake and recreational area are beautiful. Don't miss out on driving to the top of Hickory Nut Vista for a spectacular view; no walking required at the top. "Beautiful"

From Minden, take Louisiana 159 north to Caney Lake Road (Webster Parish Road 111) . Turn left on Caney lake Road, continue 2 miles to recreation area entrance.
Beaver Dam Campground is accessible via Louisiana 159, which connects to Interstate 20 approximately 15 miles to the south.

Policies & Rules
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
