I recently stayed at Sherwood Forest Campsite and it is wonderful! The place is so spacious and there is privacy between sites. The woods are really beautiful and the place even smells like the lovely pine trees. And it is so quiet! The ocassional crow caws, but mostly it is heavenly silence! So relaxing! The place is so well cared for and it is clean and stocked with essentials. Most of all, the people are just super! They are so friendly, knowledgeable, and kind. Thank you! We will be back!

Stayed for one night & it was really fun! There was a walkable beach access 10 mins away from our site which was really cool! Found a lot of sea glass!! Cute campsites, and bathrooms were clean. Staff were incredibly kind & welcoming!

We just stayed in Cabin 3 for a week and it was perfect for our family of 4! Clean, comfy beds, TV with streaming channels for rainy days, and the kitchen had everything we needed. Appreciated the firepit and gas grill provided outside each cabin. Though each cabin has 2 units, there’s a solid wall separating the screened in porches and the outdoor seating areas are spaced out, so we barely noticed having neighbors. This was a great base for exploring the rest of the peninsula. It’s a short walk to the beautiful Pemaquid Beach, which is one of the only true sandy beaches in this entire area (and great for kids with its gentle water and tide pools). Short drive (or even bike ride) to the fort, lighthouse, ice cream, area lobster shacks, etc.
It was also so quiet and peaceful at night here - great stargazing from the chairs outside our cabin! Overall a great value for the money and a great spot for a classic family beach vacation. Bring a fan or two if hot weather is predicted - there’s no ac, but it’s rarely needed at night in this area anyway. We will definitely return one day - hopefully next summer!!

Despite the cold and the rain this was one of our best camping experiences! The hosts were incredible and helped us settle in making sure we had what we needed to stay warm and cozy. Hearing the ocean at night was so relaxing. Our site was quiet, and well protected by the trees. The whole area was clean and well cared for. We would recommend anyone to stay at Sherwood if they're on the midcoast.
