Fantastic stay at Savage River! Service was fantastic and the accommodations were so cozy. The trails on property offered chances to hike with or without your dog, different levels of strenuousness etc. It was also very cool to become part of the Savage River community, with great gatherings during evening happy hours. Can't wait to come back!

We had a lovely one night getaway in a cozy little cabin facing the woods, and had a great time! Very impressed with the food, service was top notch, menu was very unique and delicious (never knew meatloaf could be so good!), and I loved the concept of the breakfast delivery service. We were hoping to catch some snow to do cross country skiing however got unlucky with the weather, but we had fun with the wine geocaching activity. I'm only taking a star off due to cleanliness and maintenance falling short of expectations considering we paid about $300 for a night's stay - the cabin floors were not clean and neither were the coffee mugs; the ceiling fan's lights were missing two bulbs so the loft was very dim.

Great weekend with friends exploring the mountains in Western Maryland. The lodge was a really great place to come together. The cabins are very comfortable. Cautions are the bedroom is in the loft and the bathroom is downstairs (problem for middle of the night visits). If you’re with a group, gathering on the porch requires moving furniture but that didn’t stop us. Service was outstanding. The restaurant was fine. Great hiking trails in property and nearby, too.

Most amazing place! We loved it. The trails are nice, the people were welcoming and the food was good. The bartender lady wasn’t very enthusiastic about making drinks and seemed like she was bored. The younger girl that brought us our dinner was super nice. We also saw her later on in the gift store! We were a bit disappointed that they didn’t have a fire going outside, but all in all it was a lovely experience and we plan on returning for sure! Thank you for the champagne surprise in the fridge for our 25th wedding anniversary. That was a nice touch.

Beautiful and serene location tucked away in the woods. The yurts were comfortable and spacious. Dinner at the lodge was elegant, both in taste and in the view from the outdoor patio. The muffins and juice in the morning was a nice touch. The hiking was fun as well, and there are lots of trails to explore. The staff could be a bit more knowledgeable on food recommendations at the restaurant, and help newcomers get the most out of their experience more via an overview of the property/activities/trails, but otherwise it was a wonderful stay!
