The campsites are very close together so there isn’t a lot of privacy. The RV permitted campsites are mixed in so it can get very noisy during the day.

Greenbelt Campground serves as an excellent base for exploring Washington, DC, offering a safe and peaceful environment. While bathroom facilities could use some updates and maintenance, the campground overall is well-maintained, with friendly staff and a beautiful natural setting. Many visitors appreciated the quiet atmosphere, convenient location near the Metro, and affordable rates, making it a recommendable spot for camping in the city.

This is a lovely park tucked right next to the nations capital! The bathrooms were small but not overcrowded, we were camping in peak season. The primitive campsites vary wildly, some with privacy, and some without any but this is a great campsite to go with friends and use a few spots. There are no hooks or any additional camp "furniture" except the picnic table. The camp fire pits were plopped on top of a square of concrete, rather than buried below ground, so the top grill area is pretty much impossible to use. It's a full 3-4 ft off of the concrete slab so the grill is never close enough to the fire to actually use, it was very frustrating! Luckily, one of our group had a small grill we put inside the camp grill, so we could cook our food. Other than the ridiculous campfire/grill placement, the camp was comfortable and well taken care of.
