Greenbelt Campground serves as an excellent base for exploring Washington, DC, offering a safe and peaceful environment. While bathroom facilities could use some updates and maintenance, the campground overall is well-maintained, with friendly staff and a beautiful natural setting. This park was not prepared for winter weather. It is a quiet solitude away from the city and in the perfect location if you're planning on exploring DC but don't want to stay in the city. However, while we were there, the first snow storm to hit the DC area arrived and snowed us in. There was not even a snow shovel in sight, and it took longer to plow the roads than expected. The camp host was very nice, hopefully after this the rangers will prepare the park better for the winter. The bathrooms were clean and warm with hot showers.

Horrible!! A tree fell on me while camping and there was no urgency to remove it. After removal there has been NO follow up. No one even called to see if I was ok. My reservation for the next day was canceled. POOR management, POOR customer service. I never imagined any thing like this would happen and the park seems to want to brush it under the rug. I used to really like this campground. I am truly traumatized by this experience.

We had a fun time visiting DC, this campground was a great location for our family of little kids. We chose this site to camp for a great rate and spend our days in downtown DC seeing all the monuments. At night we could sit by the nice big firepit. We were able to fit our popup tent and our truck nicely. The bathrooms were always clean, and warm. Showers were available. The campground is nice and quiet, you can barely hear the city noise in the far distance. It is hard to believe you are that close to such a bustling city. What a beautiful fun experience.
