The Park Rangers here set the standard for all others. They really were fantastic.

Greenbelt Campground serves as an excellent base for exploring Washington, DC, offering a safe and peaceful environment. While bathroom facilities could use some updates and maintenance, the campground overall is well-maintained, with friendly staff and a beautiful natural setting. Nice campsite. Shockingly quiet besides road traffic. Bathroom is not great - all the doors were broken in ours. The actual sites are pretty bare bones. Ours was fairly flat (thank goodness) but several are sloped a lot and would be hard to pitch a tent on.

All of the firepits are very deep so unless you have a large fire you would need to stand up and reach in to roast marshmallows. Campsite C105 has a larger drop off around the parking space which can make walking at night more trecherous. Otherwise it was positioned well for bathroom access and wasn't at risk of overlapping with other campers sites.

We were greeted by the Camp Host, when we first arrived. The lady was wonderful! She assisted me in relocating our campsite. There was perfect weather and no bugs! Such a great time.
2 minor things: First, when we relocated our campsite, it said we had showers at the restroom; there was a big wash bin sink but no showers. Second, when I booked the campsite online through my phone when you follow the map legend, it appeared that all the spots were available and nobody was camping when I looked at the campsite on my tablet is when I noticed that my phone view was incorrect, and several campsites were being used.
None of the two minor issues affected us camping or will affect us using this area in the future.

Great oasis in the middle of major urban area. The sutes are spaced out well, close to DC & 35 minutes to Annapolis. Hot showers and clean toilets too! The park rangers are very helpful.

Super positive experience. Greenbelt Campgrounds proximity to DC and the METRO made this a prefect home base for us.

I went tent camping, we only stayed 3 days and 2 nights. The camp ground was very nice, section D was a little crowd but people behaved very well. The only downside was a smaller size RV, was running a giant generator while the owner went to work all day from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, and left his 2 German Shepard dogs barking all day inside the RV. I am sure it was to run the air for the dogs but It was hard to find peace, and I ended up with a massive headache. I am glad the generator would finally stop at 8:30 pm at night each night, but I could not handle that anymore and had to leave. The camp has nice hiking trails and you can bring your bicycle. For tent campers to have a good experience, it is imperative that RV campers have their own section, since we all have to pay the price for their convenience, and I don’t think that is fair at all.
