No hot water for showers entire time. Weekend April 30-May 2 incredibly noisy the entire time. So disappointing, because it's a perfectly beautiful natural environment at Catoctin Mountain National Park with great, friendly rangers and excellent hiking, but it sounded like a very loud public playground all day long (families with 5 kids and 3 dogs each all over the place). At night there was a raging teenagers' birthday party at the NPS group lodge right behind the tents campground area with LOUD club-type music/heavy throbbing base beat going on all night Saturday night.

If you want peace and quiet, don't even think about coming on the weekend. :( If you don't mind NOISE, you'll love the beauty of nature around you and it will sound just like you're back in your noisy, crowded suburban neighborhood.

Owens Creek is a lovely quiet campground with good facilities. The sound of the creek beside the campground is musical in early. The lush spring forest was full of woodsy wildflowers. The bathrooms are clean, nice hot shower facilities plus utility sinks for dishwashing. Hiking trails are adjacent to the campground. We appreciated the availability of handicapped accessible camping sites.

Quiet location, off the beaten path. The saw mill is neat to see and there are a few trails onsite. Other than that there isn’t much to do at the campground, but Cunningham Falls St Park is only a few miles away.
