This trip was wonderful, I enjoyed walking around and sering the investments of time to fix up thr entrance area, bug look forward to whatever else may be happening. My only disappointment was we needed to leave, mid trip during to lack of toilet paper in boating area. The doos tracker stated it waz cleaned on our to arrival date however therd wasn't stocking.

This spot was wonderful! I had a clear view of the river and was directly across from the cleanest chemical toilet situation I've ever used. Strongly recommend, I'd come back again. The only drawback is that you're very close to other campers with nothing to block your view/sound from each other, but my neighbors were very quiet bikepackers so it was no issue at all.

What a pretty little spot. Not much in the way of amenities: porta-potties and a water pump. Nice and flat terrain right on the banks of the Potomac.

We have stayed at Ferry Campground several times. Besides the history and beautiful surroundings by the River, the campground is very well maintained and consistent every time we have camped there. We keep coming back!

McCoys Ferry campground is a great place to camp to bike the C and O canal towpath. Going west, you go by Fort Frederick State Park in 2 mi, then Big Pool fishing pond, and then within 10 mi or so, you arrive in the trail town of Hancock, MD which has, among other attractions, restaurants and a full-service bike shop/camp spot.
