What Guests Are Saying

River Rock Campground offers beautiful views and a friendly, accommodating manager, making it a peaceful getaway for some guests. However, there are significant concerns about cleanliness, particularly with the porta-johns, and issues with site management and communication. Some visitors have had negative experiences with neighboring seasonal campers and a lack of amenities, but overall, the campground has its charm for those who appreciate its scenic location.

Atrocious, to be honest, especially given how much they charge for one night here. None of the porta-johns have toilet paper in them, most of them are very close to over flowing, there was a huge poop on the floor of one of them as well. Also, there's no clear place to ask for assistance if you need it, which we did because the camper next to our site was using all of the outlets including ours. There were only 5 picnic tables for the at least 30 campsites and only one of those tables was fully functional/in good condition. The campground is super close to the road, so instead of hearing nature it's just all cars. The last thing is small, but half of the sites are also not clearly marked, so if you want to know which site is yours you'll have to ask a random camper.

We really enjoy this campground, we are seasonal here and it's our first summer here. We have a beautiful site by the river and view of the dam. The manager here is very accommodating and friendly. It's a great place to camp and so peaceful, a great little get-away for us.

Warning!!! HORRIBLE!!! THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE WORST CAMPGROUND! Reserved a spot in between two seasonal sites unknowingly. One site had two huge campers, one horizontally onto our site and another parked normal on their site, didnt complain, but when they arrived the owners told us to move our vehicle because they walk thru our site, i kindly said we are parked on our site but feel free to walk thru still because there is room. The camp host came after and told us because we had a boat we needed to move it, when asked where that was in policy she said it wasnt but no one else had a boat parked so move it and seasonal people pay a lot of money to use their sites, then she came back again and said there is a 2 vehicle limit, we only had two vehicles and mind you on our site!!! She came back again and said they didnt want to have to kick us out, at no point were we being rude or disrespectful, simply said no we are on our site. I called the non emergency dispatch because she wouldn't stop coming and harassing, she told the police she would refund our reservation and legally be allowed to kick us out, it was now 8pm at night. Obviously we were not going to stay next to such jerks or give this campground our money willingly and decided to leave the next day. There are no bathrooms, and you are looking at crappy buildings across the river, nothing pleasant about this place, guess that's why they are desperate to cater to their Karen seasonal camper. The poor husband that was at that campsite was super nice in the morning and hid once Karen came in site. Such greed of that seasonal camper but for the host to threaten to kick us out because Karen wanted our site space to walk thru is absolutely ridiculous.

We stayed there this past 4th of July for a week. Our campsite was on the river which was nice. Though access to the river from our site was inaccessible.due to the rocks. We had to walk down a couple of sites or walk around the road to get to the other side of the river if we wanted to wade or swim in the river. A welcomed surprise was there was water on our site.l which we weren’t expecting. The camp hosts were very friendly and showed us the events going on that weekend. Made sure we knew we were welcomed to attend. However, my reasons for only 3 stars was that quiet hour was not adhered too. Loud drunk people, and music till at least 2 in the morning all weekend long. I know it was a holiday weekend but you could have at least turned down the music. My grand children and adult children could not fall asleep in the tent they were so loud, since the sites are close together. It made it impossible to enjoy the camp fire at night and we didn’t feel as though we could mention this to the camp hosts because that’s where the party was at so it seemed. During our stay we never saw the owner of the campground nor did he make any contact with us via text message so not sure if he would have been any help. Check in was done with the camp hosts. So Unfortunately for us it’s not our type of camp ground and I won’t be recommending this place to anyone any time soon.
