Overall it is absolutely beautiful campground! Lots of trees and shade. Nice level site for a tent. My one complaint is that there were only 2 shower stalls and one was out of order in my section of the campground.

We have camped at the Platte River Campground since it first opened. It is an outstanding campground and is extremely well maintained. The natural beauty of Sleeping Bear Dunes is amazing. We are tent campers and have had sites in loop 3 , many in loop 4, several in the group sites, and more recently the walk in sites. All have been great experiences. There is a lot to do in the area. You can hike from the campground to Lake Michigan. There are also many other hiking trails. The Riverside Canoe livery may be the best in the state of Michigan. Kayak or canoe the Platte river as it is very clear and very scenic. A great Paddle for the very young or those new to paddling. As you're we planning your stay, you may want to consider times when the moon phase is new, or when the moon sets very early. The night sky at Platte River is truly amazing as you will see stars like you probably haven’t in a long time or perhaps the first time in your life.

The park is very quiet and clean. The lots are all nicely paved with a nice picnic area. Bathrooms are very clean always! One of the best campgrounds I’ve stayed at!

I tent camped at Platte River Campground near Honor, Michigan the first weekend in May. Loop 4 sites were amazing, a short trail leading from each paved parking space to its camping platform, equipped with picnic tables and campfire enclosure. It was delightful to see trees all around me as I listened to and observed many local and migratory birds.
The restrooms and showers were modern, clean, and features warm air had driers as well as hot water. The building included a dishwashing room to reduce the scent of food within the campsite. It seems to work; I didn’t even see any raccoons. Kudos to park personnel for creating a welcoming and comfortable experience for all!

Such spacious sites! Really had a quiet and peaceful time there. Pull thru was an added bonus. Electrical in site and potable water/ dumps quite easy to access. Very large but no commercial feel.
Great!

Our favorite campground! The sites are so large, well maintained and semi-private. The shower houses and surrounding area is kept clean and beautiful. The trails are also within walking distance and kept cleared.

Beautiful, clean campground. Walk in sites are pretty secluded. Right next to a short trail to Lake Michigan. Really no downsides to choosing this place.
