Platte River will always hold a special place in our heart! We started camping here and loved it so much - we come back every year. The woods, the beach, and everything that makes Northern Michigan an amazing is at your doorstep here. Thank you to the park employees who do a fantastic
Job of keeping the park clean and well run!

Great campground and campsite. The site is close enough to the (very clean) showers and bathrooms, but spacious enough to feel some privacy. The tent space is very large (which is in addition to the paved pad where the trailer, RV, car etc must be parked). I didn't have a hammock with me, but there was a good spot for one at the campsite.

Beautiful campground, lots to do, great bike riding, really nice rangers, well kept up and very clean. Very happy they had a dish washing station. Only complaint is that there were only 2 showers on our loop 3 and 20” wait for a shower was not unusual. Most campgrounds that size have at least 4 showers per loop.

The campsites and facilities were very clean and well kept. The site were really spacious and I loved all the big trees and how quiet it was. Biking to the beach was great and the tubing float trip was fun for the family. The kids loved the dune climb and swimming where Platte River empties into the lake. The Blacksmith in the historic village was a ton of fun and my son wanted to keep watching. The campground programming was fun also--we attended the Tales of the night talk which the kids enjoyed. Glen Arbor was also fun to visit. We had dinner and played putt putt at riverside club.

It was pretty wet and the bathrooms could have been cleaned more frequently.
