Our 17th year at the walk in campsites and we appreciate the upgrades to the bathroom facilities. (Improved lighting, renovated shower rooms). The park rangers are helpful and friendly. The Platte River campground has beautiful and spacious campsites, especially at the walking sites. Love it!!

Large lots with fire pits and picnic tables. Newly paved roads and back in drive in areas for trailers, etc. a big improvement from 2 years ago.

I wish the disability spots were reserved for people with disability placards since anyone can get them and they do take them because they are nice but some people really need them badly.

The facilities are kept up and there were regular patrols to make sure campers were following rules which made for an excellent family camping experience. Thanks so much!

Simply put the park is far and away our very favorite...not to say that other options in Michigan are not nice, but none of them attain the level of cleanliness, peacefulness and solitude that we find here at Platte. The staff is always friendly and helpful, the setting is incredible and the availability to hiking trails, beaches, great food or just a quiet night at the campfire are pretty much unmatched anyplace else I've stayed. We have stayed at Platte several times in the past three years and it has never even come close to disappointing us...we are heading back again this year, cannot wait!

Fantastic campground, very quiet (except one night, husband ended up talking with the group at 3am because they were so loud). Our site was perfect, bathrooms always clean. Park was so much fun to explore. LOVE our NPS!

The park does not advertise that the bath house on the tent loop, indeed on all but A loop, get shut within a couple of days of the last reservable date in October. They let go a significant number of staff one week after the last reservation date (roughly October 15) and use their last days to shutter all bath houses but the two on Loop A. So, if you need bathrooms close by, even though the tent sites are 'open', you'll find that the toilets and showers are not by about Tuesday of the week after the last reservable date. Other than that, the stay was just as lovely as it always is. Recreation.gov needs to give the Parks the ability to separately indicate the loss of nearby restroom facilities. This is a coding issue with Recreation.gov, and not a failing of NPS. Yes, I have reported it, but more voices will increase the likelihood that they'll actually give the Parks staff the ability to let us know what's up with the bathrooms on the dates we'd like to come.
