The Platte River is a big plus as is Lake Michigan.
Parking of more than one vehicle is an issue.

It's a beautiful spot to visit in Michigan. I've been coming up here since I was a kid and still love it as a senior visitor. The restrooms and grounds are clean. The rangers do a great job informing the public. Professional and friendly.

I have been coming here for years as I love the area and this campground. This campsite is pretty nice although not my fav, simply because the campsite directly to the right of it is very close to another campsite so an enjoyable experience is dependent on the behavior of that campers on your righthand side. The campsite on the other side is miles away so that way is rather secluded. Bathrooms are closest going counter clockwise on the road, don't follow the side that's on the opposite side of the road from the site as those bathrooms are a trek.

Great place to camp if you are visiting Sleeping Bear Dunes. The bike trial is great. We rode to Glen Arbor and stopped in the shops and had lunch then rode home.

Great location in Sleeping Bear Dunes to bike or drive to a variety of attractions (the park loop, the beach & dunes, paved bike trails, Betsie Lighthouse, restaurants, beautiful marinas in some small towns). Nice large campsites with clean bathrooms and showers. Friendly and very helpful park staff.
