What Guests Are Saying
Greenwood Acres Family Campground & RV Park offers a range of amenities, including large sites, a pool, and activities for families, making it enjoyable for many seasonal campers. However, recent price increases and reports of strict staff behavior have raised concerns among some visitors. While the campground has been praised for its friendly community and various facilities, potential guests are advised to consider the strict rules and mixed experiences before booking.

Raised the monthly rates from $800 and less monthly to a minimum of $1250 a month? That’s crazy. Used to be a decent place, actually hard to get a monthly spot because they stayed booked up. This year they have availability at the last minute for monthly full hookup spots. Makes sense with those prices. Recommend The Oaks or pretty much anywhere else than Greenwood.
RIP to what used to be possibly the best campground in Jackson county.

This is a great campground, we have been seasonal campers for 8 yrs and love all the amenities they have. Bands every weekend, activities for adults and kids. Very friendly campers, we have become friends with alot of the campers. Beach, pool, lake, Putt-Putt on site, Cornhole, Horseshoe, Volleyball Tournaments, Food Trucks, and so much more..

Read reviews before going! What we thought would be a fun experience turned into crappy weekend! While the staff in the rec room and a couple staff members at the gate were very friendly, respectful, helpful others not so much. Pool attendant very rude, snappy, absolutely not friendly to children. Clapping her hands constantly at children. My three year old granddaughter was afraid to go back to the pool because of the “ not so nice lady!” Train conductor very rude. A lot of yelling rules. Bathrooms were meh. Lady cleaning the bathroom was very rude when telling us to use a different bathroom. Way too many non-sense rules. If you’re looking for a family friendly campground this is not it. Perfect for 70+. Education in customer service is a must for their staff. First time going and will absolutely be our last. Waste of money.

We haven't been here in a longtime before this last week. I would go to say years. We bought a new camper and decided to visit for 4 nights. It has changed a lot. I will get the bad out of the way. The roads are tight and the dumb station could use 2 dumb drains vs 1 plus it would be nice to have more things for kids to do. But with that said they do have a lot of things for kids to do on the weekend. When my kids were little I would have things to do for them as a family event and while a lot of parents say kids need to be kids I still made my kids behave. I was reading the reviews before going and I would not let my kids run in the pool area or jump in the pool. Safety is important. I personal have seen kids get really hurt. Plus I didn't let my kids run everywhere. They do have rules but we have been camping for over 40 years and the rules are the same in state parks along with upscale campgrounds. I will say 10 mph is high, most places are a strict 5 mph. We had a great time. The lady's that ran the pool were great and very nice to my wife and granddaughter. They even had toys for her to play with. Everyone including the Staff and the seasonal residents were very nice. The spots are large and there is a lot to do. We did rent a golf cart mainly because I do spoil my wife LOL. but it is a large place. We will be back and might even tray and get a seasonal spot since we have been to so many places and it close to our home. Give this place a chance. We had a great time, felt safe, and welcomed.

2/5 stars
The details: If you are looking for overnight camping, this isn’t the experience you’re looking for. We had two sites with 3 adults and 7 kids ranging from 3 to 18.
Pros: The sites were very big (a big plus for a group our size). The pool was large, and had decent changing rooms in the pool restrooms. There’s a few playgrounds throughout the campground (some better than others). The RC track was the highlight for my son (very impressive)!
Cons: (get ready) read the reviews- the staff are strict! In the pool area: no canon balls, no life jackets in the deep end, no thong bikinis, no food inside the pool, and a very strict “no kids” adult swim hour (nope, they can’t even be within the gates of the pool if you and your spouse/significant other wanted to swim and have them sit on the side for a bit), and no ADA lift for the pool either. The arcade: games eat your money, the coin machine wasn’t working, $1 per game or $0.50 for the small bubble prize games. No tickets or prizes available for playing the arcade games. The beach: filled with goose poop, feathers line the shore line, pop tops and cigarette butts all over. Definitely not enjoyable or taken care of.
Other things: no kids activities Monday through Thursday, you MUST be 25 to drive within the campground (no, your kid who is 21 and can fight in wars can’t drive their own car in or drive a golf cart here), no one can ride in a truck bed, golf carts are $100 per day, wood is so incredibly wet it took 2 hours to have a decent fire to cook hot dogs over, the workers patrol the park 24/7 in golf carts or their own cars. Be ready to be followed for the remainder of your stay if you question a rule. I wouldn’t recommend this place. Maybe the weekends are better or seasonal sites are different, but I doubt it based on how we were treated.
