Our family has been camping at Camp 7 for nearly 30 years, which makes writing this especially disappointing.
The biggest issue this year was cleanliness and maintenance. The bathrooms appeared to have not been cleaned since opening weekend (May 15th), and conditions stayed that way throughout our stay. The walking paths also had not been maintained or cleared.
Management presence seemed limited to quick drive-throughs in a white truck, with significant attention given to roadside parking enforcement and monitoring campers, while basic campground upkeep appeared neglected.
It was also communicated that campers need a permit to collect dead wood for campfires within the campground. If that is the policy, that is understandable, but it did not seem to be clearly communicated or posted, leaving many campers unaware.
We understand rules matter and campers should respect campground property, but clean bathrooms, maintained walking areas, and clear communication of campground expectations should also be priorities.
We have loved camping here for decades, which is why it is disappointing to see the campground in this condition. Camp 7 has always been a place families enjoy, and we hope improvements are made so it can continue to be for years to come.

More care from the campground host is needed. Bathrooms were gross and ran out of toilet paper, lawn in picnic area needed mowing, trees need removed from walking paths. Potholes are ridiculous!! This nice campground is getting really run down.

Spacious campsites easy in and out. Staff was friendly and helpful. There was a mouse in the showers but that’s part of the camping experience!!

The road going into the campground is horrible, big potholes so go very slow.

Camp hosts ae doing an excellent job keeping rest rooms clean and stocked.
The camp roads are in need of major repair--major potholes!

The entrance road to this campground is absolutely horrible! The potholes are massive and deep, campers entering or existing this campground should take it very slowly! If the Forrest Service can't afford to repave the the road, at least have it ground up and leave it gravel so it can be graded periodically. On a positive note, the campground hosts are very nice people.
*Suggestion: Considering the close proximity of this campground to UTV/ATV trails, the Forrest Service should really consider opening up this campground up for UTV/ATV traffic.

- Two pets per site
- No switching sites upon arrival
- Please Note: One RV with tow vehicle per single site or one vehicle per tent site. Most sites can accommodate 1 extra vehicle that is not included with the reservation fee. Extra vehicle will be charged a per night fee and collected at the campground.
- Reserved Sites will be held until the day following your arrival date. Sites must be occupied by the checkout time of the second day to hold a reservation or the site will be forfeited and released to other guests.
- Once your reservation start date has begun, neither the Recreation.gov Contact Center nor the campground manager will be able to modify your reservation.
- Refunds: Refund requests made through www.recreation.gov will be charged a $10 processing fee. This fee is retained by the reservation service contractor along with the non-refundable reservation fee. All requests for the return of the non-refundable reservation fee and the cancellation fee will be declined by the campground concessionaire as they did not receive these fees (these are the fees retained by the reservation contractor, a different entity).
- Don't move firewood: To limit the spread of invasive tree-killing pests, firewood from outside the area is not permitted. Some states have quarantines and may confiscate your firewood. Please help protect our forests from invasive species by obtaining your firewood at or near your camping destination and burning it on-site. Visit dontmovefirewood.org for more information.
