Twelvemile Beach Campground offers stunning views of Lake Superior and spacious, well-maintained campsites, providing a peaceful atmosphere for visitors. Campground hosts are friendly and helpful, contributing to a clean and welcoming environment. However, challenges with the reservation system and occasional mosquito swarms have been noted by guests, highlighting the need for preparation regarding bug protection and awareness of site availability.

What a gorgeous campground! Our site was spacious, right on the lake, surrounded by lovely red pines with an understory of ripe serviceberries and blueberries. The hosts were gracious and they ensured everything was clean, well kept, and quiet. Compared to other Pictured Rocks campgrounds (cramped LIttle Beaver and the filthy Upper Hurricane River), this was heaven. Well done!

Loved staying here! Vault toilets were very clean, campsites were a great size. Campground hosts were fantastic (we had a flat tire and they had a pump that attached to my battery).

I love staying here just wish they would fix the stairs near the west loop. I am handicap and only can stay there when the east loop sites open up close to the stairs. We had to leave the first time we stayed here because we were on site 25 and the walk to the stairs was way too far.

Everything is always top notch at 12 mi beach. Vault toilets are spotless, the water is always dependable and clean and the sites are spacious and cared well for. The camp hosts are great. We only have one suggestion, please repair/rebuild the middle stairway. By not having that stairway, people climb up and down the bluffs which add to erosion. Keep up the great work and thank you for making this place one of the most beautiful places on our planet. Grand Marais and Munising are lovely communities with friendly proprietors…enjoy!

This is a beautiful, rustic, quiet campground! Be prepared with your supplies as firewood and ice are many miles away.

It is a beautiful, quiet, spacious campground with relative privacy (depending on the spot) and beachfront access (though you have to climb down the dunes to get to the water). My biggest issue is not the campground itself but the inefficient reservation process. After months of competing with others to reserve a campsite on the day of release to no avail, I was only able to claim a spot through a cancellation. On my first night (a Friday), there were approximately 4 sites that remained unoccupied by people who just didn’t show (but also didn’t cancel). Such a waste!! I noticed it again the next night as well. Though it has its benefits, there is this huge problem with the reservation system that remains unaltered.

The campsites are lovely, the Campground hosts oarticularly good. The second set of stairs in the campsite should be rebuilt.

The site was really close to Lake Superior and you could hear the waves lapping the shore from our tent. Everything was clean. Would definitely stay at this campground again.
