Twelvemile Beach Campground offers stunning views of Lake Superior and spacious, well-maintained campsites, providing a peaceful atmosphere for visitors. Campground hosts are friendly and helpful, contributing to a clean and welcoming environment. However, challenges with the reservation system and occasional mosquito swarms have been noted by guests, highlighting the need for preparation regarding bug protection and awareness of site availability.

Site #30, large sized wooded lot with short trail back to the bluff and views of the lake. Stunning views of Lake Superior! Decent privacy from neighboring lots. Turkeys wandered through the campground. Gorgeous woods & North Country Trail runs east/west/through the campground too. Stairs to the beach only available near Site #3 and at day use picnic area. Sure wish they would fix the stairs at Site #25! And I really wish the NPS campgrounds had a reservation kiosk onsite so you can access the reservation system to check for openings or changes to your reservation. So many sites were left empty with no easy way to cancel remaining days and/or make them open to others. What a waste of beautiful campsites on the lake!

Site #7 had gorgeous views of Lake Superior! Very large, wide lots but less privacy, but who cares with the stunning views! Access to the beach is next to Site #3 and at the day use picnic area. Cell service is almost non-existent, but better service is available 1.8 mi away at the Lake Superior Overlook site. I really wish the NPS campgrounds had a reservation kiosk onsite so you could access the reservation system to check for openings or changes to your reservation. So many sites were left empty/abandoned. Wish it were easier to cancel remaining days and/or make them open to others. What a waste of gorgeous lake bluff sites!

Beautiful campsite in the dunes with awesome views from the dunes on Lake Superior. Turkeys came through in the morning. The car pad is sandy, but it was easy to stake a tent on the pad. The way to the outhouse is short and it was clean.
