Although the Munising Falls visiting center was closed, we did the hiking trail to the left of the center and it was breath taking. If you like to hike up hill... it is amazing.

Twelvemile Beach Campground offers stunning views of Lake Superior and spacious, well-maintained campsites, providing a peaceful atmosphere for visitors. Campground hosts are friendly and helpful, contributing to a clean and welcoming environment. However, challenges with the reservation system and occasional mosquito swarms have been noted by guests, highlighting the need for preparation regarding bug protection and awareness of site availability.

Small but well staffed. The falls are washed out due to a storm in Spring 2025 and they anticipate it being closed until next year. This is where you purchase your car pass for Pictured Rocks. Only saw one ranger all day, probably federal cut backs.

Beautiful views! Great location! Private but not isolated! Easy walk to the beach. Late August weather and wind off the lake kept things bug free but a bit chilly.

I have camped for many years at Twelvemile Beach. It is a nice quiet campground. Although rustic, it is a very nice place to camp.
My only complaint would be to provide easier access to the beach from the campground. There there are two stairways to the beach and one has been washed out for the past two summers. Repairing the one that is out of action and adding another one or two would be a big help, and help preserve the sandy bluff and avoid further erosion.

The campground is lovely. The sites are very large and clean. The restrooms and water stations were all working and well maintained. The only downside was the weather! A day of drizzle after a day of rain brought out the mosquitoes.

Absolutely beautiful! Sites were great, everything (bathrooms, etc) was cleaned and maintained every day, access directly to the beach
