Campground is overall beautiful, peaceful, and well maintained. Campsites are roomy and pretty private. Pit toilets were clean and serviced twice during our five day stay. Beach is beautiful and easy to get to. Campground is nicely situated in the middle of the National Park with a quick, well-marked drive to both Grand Marais and Munising. Verizon cell service was reasonable on the beach itself, although non-existent on the roads or at the campsites.
The only complaint we had is the mosquitos, which were over the top awful in mid-June. As soon as we left the car, we got swarmed - even threw Off Deep Woods. There were so many that it sent our dog into anaphylaxis and we had to find another place to stay. None of the other parts of the national park were nearly as buggy. I still think the campground was nice, but I wish I had known how bad the mosquitos would be.
