Great sites, well spaced apart. Clean and well maintained. Best location for being on Lake Superior in the Pictured Rocks National Park.

Twelvemile Beach Campground offers stunning views of Lake Superior and spacious, well-maintained campsites, providing a peaceful atmosphere for visitors. Campground hosts are friendly and helpful, contributing to a clean and welcoming environment. However, challenges with the reservation system and occasional mosquito swarms have been noted by guests, highlighting the need for preparation regarding bug protection and awareness of site availability.

We would def return!! The camping area was amazing. We did follow Google maps to get there and had a challenge with the Baker Grade Road. This is not a regular road- you really need a 4x4. Needless to say we got stuck & needed a tow out. The map doesn't say anything about the road type nor does the road itself. The tow guy stated he's there 3x a week pulling people out.
We had an absolute blast after that though. The sunsets were amazing & the water was so clear- unbelievable!!!

Great views from this campground. Spacious sites. Great sunset & clean beach. Be sure to pick up wood & ice on your way in to the campground. Kayak the pictured rocks. Climb the dunes. Swim in the pure lake.

Beautiful campsites, beautiful beach. Take time to watch the sunset here - it's different every night. The pit toilets were nothing special, but not horrible either.

Twelvemile is the absolute BEST place to camp in the Upper Peninsula. My ONLY complaint is how impossible it is to book. I’ve been coming for three years now and can only manage to get 1-2 nights in a row. This past trip, the campsite right across from ours was booked for one full week and for the two nights we were there, that campsite remained empty. We talked to the host and he knew exactly what we were talking about. It’s just very frustrating for people like me who would LOVE to stay at Twelvemile for a full week, while there’s others who are taking that away from people like me. There should be a policy enforced to where if you don’t show up to your campsite at an allotted time, you now forfeit your campsite for the remainder of your time.
