The campsites were clean with plenty of space between spots. The beach access was great with a spectacular beach.

Twelvemile Beach Campground offers stunning views of Lake Superior and spacious, well-maintained campsites, providing a peaceful atmosphere for visitors. Campground hosts are friendly and helpful, contributing to a clean and welcoming environment. However, challenges with the reservation system and occasional mosquito swarms have been noted by guests, highlighting the need for preparation regarding bug protection and awareness of site availability.

Campground was very well maintained, restrooms were cleaned daily. Campground host was helpful and friendly.
Campsites are on a bluff next to the lake so it is very windy. We were not comfortable having a fire most nights due to wind and dry forest across the road. Had to move campstove behind vehicle to block the wind.

Several nice camping sites but take everything you need as long drive to nearest town to get supplies.
It was cooler weather when we stayed. during summer there can be an aggressive biting fly when wind is from wrong direction, you can read about that at the pictured rocks website. That is same for the Lake Superior lakeshore . BUG spray don't help with that particular fly.
Beautiful site to really get away from the busy life we have. You can walk traile or on the beach for miles which is very relaxing for us.
Be aware this is bear country but bears tend to avoid you just read up on how to react and if your nervous you can carry a bear spray or weapon as long you can legally carry and posess one. Had no encounters with any.
On the down side generators are required to shut down too early. "quiet time". There is always someone who thinks they are the camp police in these campgrounds even when they are just campers. Jealous I guess. Anyway overall this can be a very nice place to camp. Primative restrooms.
