Twelvemile Beach Campground offers stunning views of Lake Superior and spacious, well-maintained campsites, providing a peaceful atmosphere for visitors. Campground hosts are friendly and helpful, contributing to a clean and welcoming environment. However, challenges with the reservation system and occasional mosquito swarms have been noted by guests, highlighting the need for preparation regarding bug protection and awareness of site availability.

Very quiet, a lot of empty sites updated restrooms are big improvement. Rangers are great as usual

We loved this campground, and we especially loved our site. We're definitely coming back! The beach is beautiful. There were definitely some mosquitos at different times of the day, but we had bug spray and a fire going when we were sitting at the campsite. Also, I recommend the 2-mile trail that connects with the campground (different than the North Country). It was a nice little hike with the kids.

Beautiful camp sites sitting up on the bluffs overlooking Lake Superior. Clean and modern pit toilets. The only disappointment was the stairs leading down to the beach were in disrepair and to access the beach one had to climb down the dunes. Hope they fix them soon, so the dunes don't suffer from people on them. A magical place that we will definitely visit again. There are 2 sections, one for generators allowed. No hook ups

Great campground and sites. Right on the lake. Bring DEET! Solar and Starlink are an issue given the total tree cover. 10/10! Would love to return.

Great value. Clean campground and plenty of restrooms (vault toilets). There was a nice pad, grill grates were on the fire rings, and picnic table at each site. We were at site 35, and pulling our car up to the pad was TIGHT. There were posts obstructing the way to the pad and any vehicle larger than our fairly standard sedan wouldn’t have worked. Although our site clearly stated no room for campers, a heads-up about no potential pull up at all would’ve been helpful. Also, the stairs down to the beach were collapsed which happens, but there was no direct beach access from our campground without climbing up and down the dunes. Again, a heads-up would’ve been nice. But the campground is great. The stars and sunsets are incredible. Very peaceful site. Go and have yourself a great getaway!!
