Twelvemile Beach Campground offers stunning views of Lake Superior and spacious, well-maintained campsites, providing a peaceful atmosphere for visitors. Campground hosts are friendly and helpful, contributing to a clean and welcoming environment. However, challenges with the reservation system and occasional mosquito swarms have been noted by guests, highlighting the need for preparation regarding bug protection and awareness of site availability.

This campground backs right up to the beaches of Lake Superior in the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. The water is crystal clear and the grounds are spotless. Truly immersive in nature with sights nearby that can be hiked to and astound you. Highly recommend the Mosquito/Chapel Trailhead. About a 30-minute drive from campground to parking lot at start of hike, but contains some of the most beautiful sights you'll ever see. Definitely coming back.

Became stuck in the sand trying to access the entrance to the site. Had to search for another campground in late afternoon. Found one 45 mi away. No help from the camp host.

Site 30 was fine, but we were disappointed we didn't have a view of the lake.

Sites were spaced apart which made it feel a lot more private and the beach was beautiful. Bathrooms were well maintained especially for vault toilets. We arrived to our campsite at 10 pm and there were two people who had set up tents in it because they assumed the site was not reserved since we weren’t there yet. That was extremely annoying because it look 30 minutes for them to get out and we just wanted to set up and relax after a long drive. I wish the site had someone patrolling to look out for this because it’s also creepy to come up on your site and not know who is in the tents and how your interaction is going to go with them.
