Great campsite, friendly host! Stayed in site 33, which was secluded- in the woods, no beach view. No service- Verizon.

Twelvemile Beach Campground offers stunning views of Lake Superior and spacious, well-maintained campsites, providing a peaceful atmosphere for visitors. Campground hosts are friendly and helpful, contributing to a clean and welcoming environment. However, challenges with the reservation system and occasional mosquito swarms have been noted by guests, highlighting the need for preparation regarding bug protection and awareness of site availability.

Outstanding campground if you're looking for something remote with great sites. There are no showers and there's no electric. Campers typically had tents or small trailers, no motorhomes here. Sites are wooded and the ones along the lake have excellent views and access to the water, although the trek down the sandy cliff would be difficult for those with mobility issues. The steps were wiped out by a storm and are still broken as of 7/24/22.
There is no check-in, but the camp host does come around. Print or screenshot your reservation; there is no cell service here.

The views at this campground are stunning. We camped on site 12 and had tons of space; we didn't feel crowded at all. It is a super quiet campground. The host was friendly and addressed issues promptly. Park Rangers had to come deal with two issues with campers near us and were very professional. Our kids loved the sandy, rocky beach and clear water. Some restrooms are cleaner and fresher than others, but overall we had a great stay.

We stayed at 24 and it was gorgeous. It’s a shame that it’s so complicated to get a site. We were talking to the camp host and someone never even showed up at a reserved spot for 5 days!!! What a waste- people should really be respectful and cancel so others have a chance to experience this beauty!

This campground is quiet and beautiful. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that there needs to be more access for the non-generator sites to the beach; one of the staircases was damaged and they have yet to replace it. You have to travel to the other end if you want to use the stairs or hoof it up one of the sand banks. Other than that, the restrooms were cleaned and the trash was taken daily. I would definitely try to stay here again but reservations are a battle.
