It is windy like hell, so it is better to book the campsite which is covered by trees

Twelvemile Beach Campground offers stunning views of Lake Superior and spacious, well-maintained campsites, providing a peaceful atmosphere for visitors. Campground hosts are friendly and helpful, contributing to a clean and welcoming environment. However, challenges with the reservation system and occasional mosquito swarms have been noted by guests, highlighting the need for preparation regarding bug protection and awareness of site availability.

One of the most beautiful places I have ever camped! We had a big private site directly on Lake Superior with lovely sunset views. There was no electricity or water or cell service but that was the biggest plus of all as it offered an opportunity to truly get away from it all. There can be no better experience than waking in the morning to coffee and breakfast made over a Coleman stove. We did lots of hiking over the course of three days and saw lots of beautiful scenery. It was pretty much peak autumn color and we were away from the crowds of summer, so a perfect stay!

Amazing campsite with amazing views. By far my favorite in the whole state. Organized very well, easy check in. Can't wait to come back.

Spectacular location, right on Lake Superior. Our, and many of the sites, are right on the lake. Heavily wooded and well kept. We came to see the rocks but the weather was not accommodating. The waves were 6 ft and they canceled all boat tours both Saturday and Sunday. No worries, we on a hike to Mosquito falls and had a wonderful time. Make sure you have ice and firewood. It is a long drive to a store to find ice and firewood is only available through local resident's road-side offerings.
The only recommendation for the camp group would be to have better access to purchase fire wood.
