Very rustic and quiet. No cell or WiFi but beautiful views. Right on the lakeshore trail.

Twelvemile Beach Campground offers stunning views of Lake Superior and spacious, well-maintained campsites, providing a peaceful atmosphere for visitors. Campground hosts are friendly and helpful, contributing to a clean and welcoming environment. However, challenges with the reservation system and occasional mosquito swarms have been noted by guests, highlighting the need for preparation regarding bug protection and awareness of site availability.

Beautiful, quiet, rustic camping! Love that no generators are allowed. Spectacular hiking along Lake Superior.

Spot #30 was amazing. It is right next to the trail entrance and a main bathroom so if privacy is what you want maybe pick another spot but the access to the beach was outstanding! Vault toliets and trash cans seemed to be clean many times during my week long stay so that was nice. Will definitely be back.

Great primitive camp site. The road to the site coming off the main road was very well maintained. The vault restroom was very clean. The location of the camp site to the beach was amazing. Be warned, the mosquitoes were nearly unbearable. If you did not have a fire going or a high wind coming off the lake you were covered in mosquitoes.

We had a great time at Twelvemile campground. This site we were at was at the end of the campground, and felt a bit secluded from some of the other sites. There were lots of options for hanging a hammock as well. It's also very close to the bathrooms. Not that it was the campground's fault but worth noting the the mosquitos at the beginning of June were quite annoying. Once we got a fire going each day they did dissipate more.
