What Guests Are Saying
Widewaters Campground is a well-maintained and peaceful location, conveniently situated near attractions like Munising and Pictured Rocks. Campers appreciated the spacious sites, clean bathrooms, and friendly hosts, Mike and Mary, who enhanced the overall experience. While some noted noise from generators and limited water availability, the majority found it to be a beautiful spot for camping with plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy.

We loved this campground, we stayed at site 31, it was quiet, and semi secluded - there’s a road that runs through the back half of the camp site but it didn’t bother us much. The vault toilets were as expected for late season, full but not disgusting, I was able to tolerate it lol.
We kayaked on some of the lakes within the national forest, the area in general was gorgeous. Bugs - flies and mosquitoes were very mild and it was over all very enjoyable. We will be back!
Verizon had 0 service, until well into town but we had planned ahead and actually enjoyed being “ off grid”

I love this campground and having been coming there for over 25 years. I was very glad to see a camp host this year. However, the campsites didn't seem to be as "picked up" as in years past. The host was lovely, but he told me he was 81 years old and perhaps didn't know that he could do this or was unable. Overall, I love this place and hope it stays for years to come. I am VERY disappointed that it will close September 13- I'm remembering years past when we could camp until October 1. Please consider leaving it open til then as before.

Very quiet and peaceful stay. Heavy tree coverage so no sun for solar panels or open sky for StarLink, and very limited cell coverage.

The location is central UP and just 30 minutes from Musing and a little over an hour from Marquette. The campgrounds were pleasant and well-maintained. We would return in the future. The only drawback was the lack of cell service.

Generators should be shut off by 8pm. It was too noisy to enjoy the wilderness.

A large Fifth Wheel camper ran a gas generator every day until 10pm. My sister and her husband had the site on the opposite side of them. She talked to them though it didn't do any good. Generator went quite and they left the same day we did. It was noted by other campers also that it was disturbing in very nice, normally pristine and quiet area.
The good is a nice pristine campground and the cleanest best smelling pit toilets I've ever used!
Please implement "no gas generators"!

The camping spot is great and big. There is enough space for 4 or 5 tents and 3 cars. However, not my favorite spot because of the bathrooms and shower situation.
