Fishing is great! Hale and East Tawas are a 15 min drive. Be sure to check out the stars at night while camping here. Loon lovers, this lake has a loon!

The locals driving through on their golf carts and 4 wheelers sightseeing all the time was weird. And they stuff the dumpster each week just before pickup.

The campsite was very nice and we stayed about a week and in the time it was pretty quiet which was nice. The lake was AMAZING to cool off in when it was super hot. Would come back

Very nice campground with terrific staff. Bathrooms were clean. The potable water hand pumps did not work. The gas generator noise was excessive with some campers using their generators all day from 6:30 in the morning into the late evening. Some generators had acceptable low decibel (dB) level and some were very loud.....I measured 90db on one of the generators in the FCFS campground

It’s very nice to have large campsites that are separated by trees and grassy areas. It’s quite peaceful most of the time. There are two lakes that can be used from the boat access on Round Lake. (Indian Lake is attached)
Whittemore Speedway is a paved short track that is very clean and inexpensive. They race stock cars on Saturday night.
Both Tawas and Hale are nearby within 5 mi. Tawas has major shopping including Rose City RV which has a well stocked parts dept. Hale has Big Bobs restaurant known for their great breakfast. Alwards in Hale has a good butcher shop and some specialty meats.
The Outpost store on the corner where you make the turn to enter the campground is under new ownership and Chris and Dave? are getting it well supplied with all of the camping essentials. They also have hand dipped ice cream!
Round Lake Campground I secluded but close to anything that you could need.

General
- Your permit is subject to forfeit and a violation notice may be issued for failing to follow these rules: • Occupancy limits apply to your site • Keep all camping equipment and vehicles within your designated camp site. • Keep all vehicles, trailers and RVs on camping spur. • You must occupy your site within 24 hours of the start of your reservation. Contact the Forest Service to request a late arrival or your site may be forfeited. • Pets must be on leash at all times. • If potable water is available at your site, please be sure to wash your dishes and clothes away from the water source. If watering livestock or pets, please water them away from the water source. This will help protect the water source from contamination. • Pack it in, pack it out. Leave the site clean for the next campers. Do not leave trash in fire rings, and do not burry or burn trash or recyclables. • Be careful with fire. Do NOT leave hot campfires unattended. Make sure your ashes are cool to the touch before you leave. • You may use downed wood for firewood. Keep fires within the fire ring. • Fireworks and use of fireworks are NOT permitted. • Do not tie/tack anything to standing trees, including (but not limited to) horses, pets, laundry lines, garbage bags. • ORV’s may only be operated on trails signed as open for their use. ORV’s may not be used within campgrounds. • Don't move firewood: To limit the spread of invasive tree-killing pests, firewood from outside the area is not permitted. Some states have quarantines and may confiscate your firewood. Please help protect our forests from invasive species by obtaining your firewood at or near your camping destination and burning it on-site.
