Excellent campground. Clean, quiet, peaceful what more could you ask for. Close enough to walk to the lumbermans monument to enjoy the views and learn about michigans logging history. Especially at sunset that view of the river was gorgeous. Campground host was very helpful and attentative to the campground. You could tell he enjoys it. This was my children's first experience camping and I couldn't have chosen a more perfect spot for it. I will definitely be coming back and recommending this campground.

I also checked out the Rollways campground nearby, but I liked Monument campground better.

Quiet, with generously sized sites. Ample restrooms and water nearby. Loved that it was next to the lumberman's monument.

Love this area! The campground host was excellent, very helpful and kind. He keeps the campground very clean! Love how big and private the sites are; pay attention to the site you are reserving—didn’t realize only the inside sites are reservable. Reserved site #9…on the map it looked like 9 was on the outside. Also, there are a few sites, including #9, that have the fire pit on the “wrong” side. The door side faces away from the larger portion of the site and fire pit. Otherwise it is a beautiful place to spend a camping trip! Love that there is so much to do within walking distance! (So many hiking trails and monuments).

This campground is always great to stay at. I bring a group of guys up every year to fish for a week and the group site is plenty big enough for us. The campground is quiet and clean. The only issue this year was the shape of the bathrooms. One was completely closed off and the other closest to our site had not been maintained until we spoke to the camp host. This was the first year we've seen any issues. We'll be back next year with our same group. Hopefully the weather will influence the fishing to be better next year. 😀

The campgrounds and surrounding environs are very well-managed and peaceful to be in. The bathrooms are very well maintained and clean. Sunrises and sunsets filtering through the trees are absolutely magical.
