Carp River Campground

Stayed here mid September, for the last week this campground was open. Camp Hosts very friendly and accommodating, made sure we knew what we needed to know, and had what we needed for camp. Our site was large, and very well kept, enabling us to place our gear (and pups) comfortably. Used the week to hike several surrounding areas, and got to play in Lake Huron a bit. Water spickets were pressurized and the bathrooms were clean and pleasant. This is our 'go to' campground for this area when we are depending on having a reservation. The reservation process was painless (although the fees are creeping up), and the site was ready for us (didn't have to worry if someone else would be on it or not, which has happened at other locations). This is an awesome campground, quiet and serene, just a few minutes from supplies in St Ignace, and even less distance from locals selling campfire wood.

The hosts were the absolute best!

It was great! Campground was well maintained. One thing is that the well pump for water wasn't working for us, but we luckily had brought several gallons of water with us.

Nice campground just 15 minutes from the bridge. We had site 9 which was nicely isolated from other sites with trees, had river access, and was flat and large. Very nice. Host (Mary, at the time) was very nice and came around to check on us the first night. The only really negative thing I have to say was that the fire pit was one of those almost 3 ft high steel rings and a standard campfire is not really possible in it - the fire is out of sight and you get no heat from ut unless you are cooking right above it. After our first day we built a fire against the back of the outside of the fire ring (sorry NFS) so it was able to be seen / felt / enjoyed while sitting around it.

The campground was immaculate and the hosts were absolutely amazing!!!

Pleasant stay, very quiet and peaceful. Vault toilet was clean and sites were will maintained. Camp host was present and available when needed. My site had plenty of sun to keep the batteries charged and there was good cell coverage. We would stay here again.

Well maintained and clean camp. The person managing the grounds was friendly and had good recommendations on sights. Blue berries and bunch berries were growing all around.

Our host was wonderful and moved us to a vacant site closer to the rest of our group and better able to accommodate us with 2 tents, 2 cars, and a trailer. She is a wonderful ambassador.

The camp hosts were friendly, vaults were clean, and sites were great. Lots of trees between sites for some privacy.

I always stay here when traveling through UP to Traverse City. The mosquitoes are friendly so make sure the screen is well placed. There are great hiking areas and river fishing is adjacent to many sites. Just a short way to the Kewadin Casino and the many St. Ignace tourist attractions.
