This a great spot to camp. The beach is amazing. The only issue is the road noise. I think truck drivers need their eyes checked, they drive on the rumble strips a lot. Very noisy.

The campground at Lake Michigan at St. Ignace is convenient and beautiful. It is right off the highway and close to all things Lake Michigan in the UP. St. Ignace, several smaller lakes, pasty shops, hiking trails… everything is nearby. The campsites on the lake are separated by a bluff, but the views from the top are amazing. Almost every site on the lake side has access to the beach. The best sunset of our trip was at this campground. The hosts were so nice and helpful, too. We highly recommend this campground.

Beautiful place. Loved it. But, whew, the noise from the well-traveled highway just a couple hundred feed from the campsites. If you're in a tent, definitely bring ear plugs but even then it will still be noisy. Even so, I wouldn't pass it up just because of the noise. Just one night might be enough! Beautiful beach and awesome location.

Be aware reservation sites are for reservations only. Even if the reservation site is empty, it does not revert to a first come first serve.
