Spacious sites, bathroom maintained, cool trail to Sullivan Wilderness trail. Can you do something about the rain? J/K. Nice place to make family camping memories.

Our experience was very good. Each site was very large and very clean. We loved our site was a few steps to the lake. Bathrooms and water dispense areas were clean and in quick distance from the sites. The only negative were loud neighbors who didn't respect the quiet time rules.

The campground was beautiful and possibly the cleanest I've ever experienced. Our large site, fronting on the lake, was even raked when we arrived! The hosts seemed very pleasant and helpful when they greeted us the day after our arrival -- while observing social distancing. There's a nice swimming beach and picnic area on one end of the lake. Swimming from our site wouldn't have been feasible because of dead bushes in the water near the shoreline. The one drawback of this campground for me was that the traffic from nearby MI-28, a busy highway crossing the UP, kept me awake most of the night. Our site was relatively close to the road, but when taking a walk through the entire campground, we noticed that, at the time we were there, the noise from the road carried even to the opposite side of the lake. Soldier Lake Campground is close to many scenic sights along Lake Superior and made for pleasant hikes and outings.
