What Guests Are Saying
Bay View Campground offers a beautiful and rustic camping experience along Lake Superior, featuring large, private sites under mature trees and clean facilities. Many guests appreciate the excellent cleanliness maintained by the camp hosts and the stunning beach access. However, some concerns were noted regarding the presence of generators, the need for a camp host for better quiet time enforcement, and issues with trash management. Overall, the campground remains a favored destination for its natural beauty and welcoming atmosphere.

We have been camping here, on several occasions for the past 40 years. Though the number of tent campers has decreased dramatically, it still is a "rustic campsite". Mature trees provide privacy, and each site has a fire pit, a pole to hang tent gear, and ample space to place a large tent. Pit toilets are kept clean. The host does his best to enforce quiet time starting at 10pm. The use of generators running during the daytime to "power up" everyone's 'glamping needs' can be annoying, but that is not the fault of the campsite host. I do however, wish people could "do without" their power needs at a rustic campsite.

Love this place. Would book again any day if we could get a reservation. Trash wasn’t picked up the entire time we were there and it was overflowing into the street from day 1. I don’t know why it was closed for so long and is in worse shape than 5 years ago. Either way it’s rustic and on the lake wish there were 10 more just like it. Weekend booking rules make it hard to plan a trip for a week. We always have to change sites 3 times to stay a week and half the sites are reserved and NO ONE IS THERE. The entire UP is booked and no one shows!

Bay View needs a camp host, the bathrooms weren't as well kept as previous years. In general it didn't feel as safe as when a camp host is there.

The campground is so beautiful! We had perfect weather the days we were there , especially for mid September. Everything was clean and quiet. My only complaint was with our camp host who should know better than to bring up politics when he stopped by our campsite. We were not aware either that there was an extra daily charge for having 2 vehicles until we arrived. Circumstances changed from when we initially made our reservations. Overall it is one of the best campgrounds for privacy and enjoying trees, water and nature.
