What Guests Are Saying
Winnie Campground is praised for its friendly host, Nicole, who has significantly improved the campground's cleanliness and maintenance. Campers appreciate the spacious, beautiful sites, immaculate vault toilets, and the peaceful atmosphere, especially during less crowded times. However, there are some concerns regarding bear activity in the area, which has prompted campers to be cautious with food storage.

The boat ramps were almost unusable. People like this campground for fishing and when you can't do that you won't go back. I have used this campground for over 40 years but I don't know if we will go back.

We visited last fall and the grass wasn't cut (site 12) and it wasn't this past week either (13). We brought along a weed whip. The wind and cool weather kept the mosquitoes at bay the first day, but we were swarmed the second and third day. We left a day early.

Campground was excellent. This was my 46th consecutive Mn fishing opener on Winnie. The boat dock in to the lake was installed on the the wrong side, making it difficult to back a boat trailer in to the lake. It was also causing the lake to wash out along the side of the ramp.

The trip this year wasn't so great as we had LOTS of thunderstorms and huge amounts of rain. Ended up cutting our trip short. It would be nice if the campsites were mowed more frequently - especially #13. This is the site we really like but every year that we get there the grass definitely needs mowing. We love camping at Winnie and will definitely be back again next summer.
