Our family has been camping here for annually for over 40 years. We really enjoyed the new boat docks and slips. Unfortunately the lack of staff really showed in the sanitation department. The bathrooms should really be cleaned twice a day for a campground this size. Toilets over flowing and vomit in the sink sat for almost 15 hours before being cared for. We we tried to call the number for “service requests”, the number was disconnected.

Great location. Just the right amount of tree coverage and space between sites. Dam & its history cool to explore. Volunteers were lovely.
Bathrooms clean. Showers a bit dated (but expected for camping).
Recommend a stop here. =D

The Campground at Cross Lake Recreation Area is a real gem; the grounds and facilities are well-maintained. In our experience the campsites have level pads and electricity. There is a dump station that also offers fresh water to fill camper tanks. The bathrooms offer flush toilets and hot-water showers, but they are pretty old and in need of some renovation because tiles are falling off the shower walls and there is a significant amount of mold and mildew in the grout. During our visit, the bathrooms were well stocked. The town of Cross Lake offers plenty of amenities such as groceries, laundry, fuel, propane, bait and restaurants so you can re-stock and recharge while on a long camping adventure. The lake offers good fishing as we had luck both above and below the dam. For those who need connectivity, we experienced 25 Mbps down and 9 Mbps up on ATT and 106 Mbps down and 14 Mbps up. Thanks to both the Army Corps of Engineers and Recreation.gov for making it so easy to plan and reserve an epic camping experience on our federal lands! ❤

We had a great time except for the rain - but I know it is needed, and no one can control it - not a complaint, just a comment.

I absolutely love this campground. The addition of the dock system this year was fantastic; I wish there were additional rope cleats on the dock because a lot of boats are a lot smaller than what it's setup for currently. Bring long mooring lines, and bring a collapsible wagon if you're staying further away from the docks to haul your stuff to and from your boat.
We recommend the Wharf for their wings and cocktails, and we love going to Crafts & Cones for an ice cream at least once during our stay. We always bring bikes, scooters, etc as the campground is nicely paved.
Overall, we will continue staying here for years to come.

We always enjoy our time at Crosslake campgrounds. It's clean and friendly. Our campsite was our first time using one of the sites that has the sewer and water hookup. Water was fine, but site #55 had a tree that prevented us from backing up far enough to hook up the sewer. No big thing as far as we're concerned. Was nice to have the water without having to fill up before setting up camp.
