About Onegume

One of the Chippewa National Forest's most popular campgrounds, Onegume is located on Little Cut Foot Sioux Lake. It is near MN State Highway 46, also known as Avenue of the Pines Scenic Byway, in the heart of the Chippewa National Forest. Very nice campground! The vault toilets were extremely clean. The camp hosts were very helpful, keeping us updated about some potential severe weather coming in and directing us where to get water since the pump was broken and we couldn’t use the water spigots in the park.

Beautiful campground, lots of privacy between spaces. Only reason I deducted a star was the political banner displayed by the otherwise gracious camp hosts. As quasi government employees, it seems inappropriate.

We really enjoyed this campground. Sites were very large and wooded. Quiet as well due to the fact almost all have electric hookups, so NO GENERATORS! We like more primitive camping, so this was perfect. Just vault toilets, so remember that. No swimming beach, but we did take a dip near the fishing pier as many people did. Next time we’ll try for a lake site which look AMAZING. Nice little loop for kids to bike. Bring a boat, or kayaks like we did. Plus if you forgot essentials there is a resort a short, cute walk away with grocery items and ice. Oh, and camp hosts were very on top of cleaning the vaults. Cleanest ones we’ve had!
