Smaller campground with nicely spaced sites and lots of trees. Easy walk over to river where we were able to walk along shore for a ways before getting to end of COE grounds. We didn't use the showers but they looked okay. You need to fill up with water when first coming into campground but there was electric at sites. A dump station on the way out. We met some nice folks there and had some nice conversations. A good place to go to enjoy some nice Minnesota great outdoors.

We really enjoyed our stay at Winnie Dam. The campground was fantastic! Very relaxing and peaceful. The sites are all very large and most would accommodate larger rigs. The dump station area was clean and easy to access with our 30' travel trailer. Our electricity was reliable and had no issues there. If you have a night you just don't feel like cooking "Lake Winnie's Gosh Dam Place" is just down the road and has pretty good food. The menu says they will even cook your fish that you bring in, though we didn't test that.

The reservation process online and in app with recreation.gov is fantastic, in my opinion, and we were able to pull in and head right to our site. The only downfall of that process is that we had someone show up and claim we stile their site. I'm glad I was able to go to the app and confirm we were in the correct spot. I'm reasonably sure they had reserved the site across from us and didn't want to admit their error. It was supposed to be rented all weekend and nobody ever showed up for it. The folks that accused us had relatives in another site and shared that one I guess. It pays to keep a record of what site you booked!

Aside from that snafu, we loved the place and will definitely go back!
