It was a lot smaller than other COE campgrounds we've been to. Kept up nicely. A little annoying the garbage collection at 7 a.m. but otherwise quiet. Nice host and hostess. We kayaked on the Mississippi River and it was wonderful. Very clear water, watched the fish swimming underneath us. Husband caught a nice big walleye in Lake Winnibigoshish but it was in the slot so had to go back in :( Could use a bigger sign at the entrance.

The campground has a lot of nice camping spots. They are large and tree-filled. Fishing access is a walkable distance from all sites. Showers are large and well-maintained.
I would definitely camp here again.

Camping at Winnie Dam is always a great experience. The hosts are some of the best we have run across. They are always so helpful and knowledgeable about activities in the area.
