Birch Lake Campground

I absolutely love this campsite me and my amazing wife have been coming here the last 2 years and love every experience we get to enjoy here I would highly recommend coming here to fish and spend time with family

This group camp is very spacious. We had 4 tents and 2 big screen rooms and we still had a huge open area for the kids to play games. The whole area was extremely well kept and clean, right down to the parking areas and the bathroom. There is a water spicket at the site too, and we did not detect any unusual smells or taste.
The positives: big area, well kept, bathroom clean and well stocked with TP, good clean water right there, isolated well from the rest of the camps.
The negatives: no good access to the water from the camp. Need to go to the boat launch if you want to swim or launch a canoe (which we brought). No fishing from shore. Very limited view of the lake from camp. There was also, at times, a bad smell from the garbage or the bathroom.

The bathrooms are very clean. The drinking water was so good and cold.

Growing up, I would camp multiple times every summer at Birch Lake. After a 15 year hiatus, I'm happy to say it's pretty close to how I remember it. Even though I'm not into fishing, it's a great spot to go to if you want a more remote experience but still have access to an outhouse. No electricity, well water you have to pump and haul, lots of nature, and the most gorgeous sky at night. If you come in August, you'll almost always get to see some shooting stars.

I brought my husband, children (ages 9, 6, and 4), and our 2 dogs out here. It was everyone's first time camping without electricity and this remote. The first night took some warming up, but once the s'mores and starry sky came out, everyone settled in.

Despite his hesitance at first, my husband has agreed this will be our family's yearly camping spot from now on.

Great stay at this campground with amazing hosts that kept the facilities perfectly clean. Great kayaking to secluded little spots on the lake. As always there are unfortunately still idiots that run generators between 6 and 9 at night, ruining the golden hour for everyone!

We were happy to get a reserved space, (021) and didn’t mind the 17 steps between the parking area and the tent, table and fire pit area. My only concern was that the very narrow path to the lake was overgrown with poison ivy in several spots. That impacted my ability to navigate and enjoy the path/lake. Otherwise everything was wonderful.

Mid-September, a few campers in the Group Site. But besides us, only one other campsite was occupied. So very quiet and private. Clean campground; restrooms are immaculate.
