What Guests Are Saying
Voyageurs National Park offers stunning scenery, spacious and well-maintained campsites, and a variety of wildlife sightings, making it a fantastic destination for camping. The reservation system is convenient, though some users find it cumbersome and prefer the old method of finding campsites. Despite minor inconveniences like overgrown trails and occasional maintenance issues, visitors report enjoyable experiences and express eagerness to return.

Amazing experience and one of the best ways to experience Voyageurs National Park. I took a college friend of mine up during our summer break. We hired a water taxi out to the Locater Lake Trailhead and then picked up canoes to make the trip out to War Club Lake. Perfect two to three day trip for experiencing pristine northern wilderness. No moose, but plenty of beavers, flies, and bald eagles. Taking the canoe out further to Quill Lake and Loiten Lake is definitely an adventure, but will require some decent portage sections depending on the water level and beaver activity. We visited each of the four campsites on the Chain of Lakes section and War Club seemed the best in our mind. Far enough away on the trailhead without requiring any portage sections. Good tentpads and not too many bugs.

We have been camping and fishing in the Park for more than 20 years. Always a highlight of the year. Make sure to be prepared to deal with biting mosquitos and gnats. Wear loose clothing and bring bug spray. Also, likely no cell phone service so bring walkie talkies to communicate with other boats in your party. Consider bringing a satellite phone or similar for emergencies.

Fantastic camp site! Close enough to Ash River Visitor Center and the boat launch. Beautiful site capturing the sunsets on Lake Kab. Great fishing nearby too. Only downside to this site is that the tent pads are literally on top of each other. Will definitely be reserving this camp site again.

Not terribly populated on memorial Day weekend. Camp site was awesome. Williams island North was a great site with perfect sunset view and a calm spot to park your boat. A cushier experience over the bwca but a great and easy way to get out and enjoy the wilderness and good fishing. Definitely will be back here.

Would love it if the bathroom had toilet paper and perhaps cleaned. Since the price has risen so do expectations I guess?

Excellent spot! It was easy to find with the rock piles as signals. I am not a tall person, so it was difficult with the bear pole.
The canoe was so fun!
I never found the toilet.

South winds will make it very hard to get out of little cove. Best place to put tent is back spot because blocks wind. Caught some good size walleye off point to the right. Bald eagles nest nearby

Our camping trip to Birch Cove Camp site on Lake Namakan was great despite the 24 hours of rain during our stay. This was a perfect campsite for us as one guest has some physical disabilities. It was a flat camp site and easy to move around. I love the the tent pads as they are flat and great to place a tent on. I wish fishing was a little better but we did catch some nice small Mouths and a few walleyes. Have another trip planned one month later. Voyagers has some of the most beautiful rock formations and shorelines in Minnesota.
