Rum River Campground

We stumbled onto Rum River campground as a last minute stay as we were passing thru. What a great find. We only stayed 2 nights but are definitely already planning a return trip. Great sites full hook up very clean . The Bathrooms and showers are super clean and reasonable rates. Got to meet Nic and Michelle the owners . Super nice people. Definitely going to be a regular stop for us

We stayed at this campground for the first time this weekend and it was great all around (we have a smaller RV that we camp with all summer and travel around to different locations with)! The new owners Nic and Michelle are amazing and so friendly and fantastic hosts!! The overall aesthetic of the property is fantastic (trees, the river, shaded sites, etc) and the bathrooms and showers were very nice and clean (they also have laundry which is nice)! We had a new pull through spot with full hookups and it all worked great. The short walk to the river (2 spots to enter) were great as well and our girls loved it as there were so many butterflies, dragonflies etc and they could run in the wife open spaces/trails. They have a little playground, shuffleboard, a pickleball court, activities for families on the weekend and a dog park. We really enjoyed our time camping at Rum River Campground and we will be back!! We would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a campground close to Mille Lacs. We looked at KOA down the road as well and by far this is the better property as that one is an open field.

Nice and clean bathroom and showers. Quiet campground with a short walk to the river where you can place your chair in the shallow area and enjoy the day!

Had a nice Memorial weekend staying here. People who run the campground were friendly and helpful. Loved the pull through sites. Pretty flat. Nice large fire rings. Our grandkid had a great time at swings in playground area. Just wish there were more for them to choose from than a couple swingsets and a sandbox. A jungle gym with climbing/slides would be a hit, and perhaps a basketball hoop. No pool, but they do have tubing on the river if you're so inclined. Understand they will add things in the future. For the current affordable rates, we felt it offered good value. Will return again at some point.

This is a really nice campground. The pull through sites make it very easy to get set up. All of your connections are new and actually work. The staff/ owners were fantastic. Very nice people. They even show you to your site and will bring firewood to you. The bathrooms are very clean for those of you that don't have a bathroom like us. There are a couple of porta potties as well. The fire rings are a good size, but they do not have a grill on them. Make sure to bring a tripod grill, or something else, if you plan on grilling over an open fire. Otherwise, set up, plant your chair, and have a good time.
