Camp host was very helpful. Nice secluded campsites. Definitely bring your canoe or kayak and some fishing gear. The lake is beautiful. The Superior Hiking Trail is about 20 miles back on the County 2, the road to Tofte. You can hike either to Britten or Carlton Peak, depending on the direction you take.
I'm an astronomer, and the lake parking lot shows a decent amount of sky at night. The Milky Way is blazingly bright!
Some cell/text coverage by the lake, but don't rely on it.

Beautiful secluded camping. Campground host does a nice job keeping the vault toilets clean and the campground in good order.

No cell signal, no radio reception (beyond the weather radio). Campsite 29 right on the lake. Pulled the kayaks right on shore - the entire lake is great for kayaking. Spotless restrooms.
Best COVID camping ever.

This was the second time that we camped in Crescent Lake Campground in the last two Septembers. We loved that area because of its rugged environment with the dirt roads. Its dark nights were excellent for our stargazing. We will return next year.

Great campground and camp host. Cleanest vault toilets I’ve ever seen. Absolutely a beautiful place and definitely what you think of for a picturesque slice of Northern MN.

Beautiful location with nice campsites that were quite and private. Lake Crescent is a wonderful lake perfect for canoeing, kayaking and fishing. Toilets were very clean and sanitized often. We will be returning to this location often.
