What Guests Are Saying
South Pike Bay is a beautiful and peaceful campground that has long been a favorite for families, offering clean campsites and a lovely lake for recreation. Many visitors appreciate the friendly campground host and the well-maintained facilities, although some have noted issues with rule enforcement and maintenance of restrooms. While there are some concerns about overgrowth and the condition of the boat launch, the overall experience remains enjoyable for many campers who value the rustic charm and serene atmosphere.

This is our most favorite campsite to go to. It’s close to home, nice sandy beach and affordable. The sites are always clean and the camp host is always friendly and easy to chat with.

This is a very nice campground with lots of shade and a great bike trail. Using solar is not possible.

Been coming to Pike Bay for the last 45 years. My parents brought me there every year as a child I’ve brought my children now we bring our grandchildren. The campground is always clean and neat. Mike Shaffer the campground host is the nicest friendliest host ever. We return each year not just for the beautiful campground but because of Mike. He is like family to us. He makes us feel so welcome he always stops by for a chat and to see if there’s anything we need. He is the best. We will continue to come each year as long as Mike is the host. He mows as soon as people leave keeps the campground spotless the bathrooms cleaned every morning before we awake. We look forward to another 2 week stay next year so does my son and my grandchildren and my brother. We love getting spots 3,5 & 7 so we are near Mike the host. Thank you to the forest service who is always friendly and to Mike Shaffer for all his hard work and making us feel so welcome like family.
