This is an absolutely wonderful little campground. The sites are well maintained, as are the grounds and the rest of the facilities. There is a gravel trail that circles the lake and is perfect for long walks, running, or bike riding. There are other trails in the forest that are maintained to varying degrees, some quite well but others not at all, but according to the host they are not the responsibility of the Forest Service. Some are excellent for bike riding. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. I will definitely put this campground on my list of places to return to and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet getaway.

We stay at Choctaw lake often, but we always find it to be a enjoyable stay. Beautiful lake and it has a trail that goes all the way around therefore it's good for walking and riding bikes. Most campsites are level and large enough for a larger rig. We have a Class A and it fits on most if not all sites. The only issue I have with the park is the sites we enjoy staying in are not reserve-able. They split the campground in two areas. The area to the left (the sites we love) can not be reserved and the ones to left can be reserved. Now with that being said the park host is very nice and every time I've reserved a site he has let me switch it for one of the other sites. We really enjoy the park and if you like staying at your site, cooking at your site and enjoying the lake you will enjoy this park too. If you are one that likes to go to dinner outside the park or go to Walmart, this might not be the park for you.

Nice quite lake, real good walking trails, one around the whole lake about 2 1/2 miles, with several others that are more challenging with hills etc. 21 camp sites ( no sewage) family friendly. Great host, clean rest rooms, swimming area also.

I always love staying at Choctaw Lake. The camp host is super friendly and helpful.
The hot showers are great after an awesome day of riding some of the 25 miles of mountain bike trails or enjoying the beautiful lake.
